Failure To Launch Opening Sequence



Failure to Launch is a 2006 American romantic comedy film. In the movie a 35-year-old man lives in the home of his parents and shows no interest in leaving the comfortable life his parents, especially his mother, have made for him there.

The film opens with the title ‘Paramount Pictures’ with soft country music in the background. Throughout the opening there are titles. The titles come in and are then the letters individually drop. The opening then says ‘Paramount pictures presents’ ‘A Tom Dey film’ and then a few actors’ names. It then cuts to a shot of a close up of a man, then a woman and then them both together. The close ups allow the audience to engage in the characters emotions and see the facial expressions which they are using, clearly and efficiently. There is slow music in the background which is played throughout the scene. After this, the titles then appear with loud catchy music over them. This is played while the main character is getting dressed and at breakfast. The titles appear in the following order:
