Kill Bill Opening Sequence

Kill Bill is a two-part 2003–2004 action/thriller film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino.
The film opens with sound of a drum roll and trumpets. It then appears with 'Miramax Films' and then has Chinese writing. The film then begins with the sound of heavy panting. The audience are unaware of where the panting is coming from and what it is over, but it is later revealed it is from a woman who is later shot. The film also appears with the quote 'Revenge is a dish best served cold' with the panting at the same time. It goes pitch black after a few titles and then reveals a women. The scene is in black and white which creates mystery to why it is like this. The sound of shoes walking begins and a mans voice too. As he walks you can hear the floorboards creak which begins to add tension to the scene. The mans face is never revealed which leads more mystery to who he is.

Out of all the whole opening scene, there are only two shots, which are both close ups. One of which are of the mans shoes and the other of the females face. Having the close ups allows us to see all the emotion in the females face. Over the titles there is music which is soft and lyrics which some may think correspond which happened in the scene before. After the women is shot, it then goes pitch black and then titles begin in the following order:
  • 'Film by'
  • 'Actor name'
  • 'Film title'
  • 'Co starring'
  • 'Titles of characters and actors who play them'
  • 'Guest starring'
  • 'Editor'
  • 'Martial Arts Advisor'
  • 'Casting'
  • 'Special makeup editors'
  • 'Associate producers'
  • 'Costume designers'
  • 'Original music'
  • ''Production designers'
  • 'Director of photography'
  • 'Executive producers'
  • 'Production by'
